Belbury--an imaginary academic town in Lewis's That Hideous Strength where the ultimate battle for the world of humanity came to a head.
Lewis's story follows the battle for a single man's soul as it happens during the larger war waged against his culture. The man is not important. He is not a hero or a villain. Like so many of us, he simply wants to be popular, part of the in-crowd and welcomed among the "intellectual elite." In the process he nearly sells himself into bondage.
The voices here (and we would welcome more) can vary widely in their focus. Some look forward to find ways to help our coming generations understand the freedom they stand to lose in an attempt to attain success in this embattled society. Others look back for inspiration and advice for the sake of freedom.
